On a domain's detail panel, click "Delete Domain." This is one destructive action — it removes the domain from Winnr and tears down all of its mailboxes, and it frees up the domain slot on your plan. There's no "let it expire" alternative: Winnr domains are a one-time purchase with no auto-renewal to cancel. Deleted domains and mailboxes are backed up, so contact support if you ever need something restored.
Delete is one action, not a choice
There's no "let it expire" branch and no separate registrar-cancel step. Winnr domains are a one-time purchase with auto-renewal off, so there's no renewal to turn off — deleting is the only way to remove a domain. When you delete, the domain is removed from Winnr and every mailbox on it is torn down. If you have active mailboxes still sending that you don't want to disrupt, don't delete the domain until you're done with them.
Delete-then-recreate is not a rename
There's no rename feature. If you want to change a domain's name, you delete it and create a new one — but the new domain is fresh, has no warming history, and starts at 0-day reputation.
What's next
Step-by-step
-
1. Open the domain
Click the row in the Domains list. The detail panel opens.
-
2. Click Delete Domain
The button lives at the bottom of the detail panel.
-
3. Confirm the deletion
Winnr asks you to confirm — this is intentional, because deletion tears down every mailbox on the domain. When deleting multiple domains at once from the Domains page, you confirm by typing the word DELETE, and a single bulk request is capped at 100 domains.
-
4. Confirm and wait
Deletion queues in the background. The domain moves to Deleted state, the DNS records Winnr manages are removed, and mailboxes are torn down. A summary email confirms once complete.
Frequently asked questions
What happens to the mailboxes on the domain?
They're deleted along with the domain. If you had warming enabled, it stops and billing for those warming slots stops with the next cycle. Mailbox data is backed up — if you delete by accident, contact support and it can usually be restored.
Can I recover a deleted domain?
Winnr keeps a backup of deleted domains and their mailboxes. Contact support@winnr.app and restoration is usually possible.
What about the DNS records at my registrar?
If Winnr managed the domain's DNS (you pointed your nameservers at Winnr, or connected via a Cloudflare API token), Winnr removes the records it wrote. If you added the records manually, they stay in place at your DNS provider — remove them yourself to avoid stale entries.
Does deleting a domain affect my plan limit?
Yes — the deleted domain no longer counts against your plan's domain cap. You can immediately create a new domain in its place.
I have warming enabled — do I still get charged for this month?
You're charged for the current cycle up to the point of deletion (pro-rated on the next invoice). Future cycles stop.
Is delete different from cancel-my-subscription?
Yes. Delete = one specific domain. Cancel subscription = your whole account, all domains, all mailboxes. See [Cancel your subscription](/help/billing/cancel-subscription.html) for the account-level path.
